'Breaking Dawn' stars line up their next movies
Robert Pattison, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner have spent more than three years in their roles as Edward Cullen, Bella Swan and Jacob Black in The Twilight Saga movies. Now that they have finished filming the series, it鈥檚 time to focus on what鈥檚 next.
For Kristen Stewart, the next role is playing Snow White in Snow White and the Huntsman. In fact, she can see some similarities between Bella and Snow White.
鈥淭hey really both are, in different ways, matriarchs 鈥� very strong, strong matriarchs.鈥�
Even though she鈥檚 moved on from the role, there are parts of Bella that will stay with her.
鈥淚f you鈥檙e the type of girl to identify with Bella, then you just kind of are her. You鈥檙e not playing yourself all the time, but, for her, somehow I could not disagree with her, ever. I think we鈥檙e pretty similar at times,鈥� she said.
Her key to avoiding being typecast is simply choosing projects that she鈥檚 interested in doing.
鈥淭he movies that I鈥檝e done in between the Twilight films 鈥� I鈥檝e just been really lucky that they鈥檝e been very different. Not because I鈥檝e meant them to be, but literally because the things that I was drawn to happen to be different from the Twilight movies,鈥� she said.
Robert Pattinson鈥檚 next film, Cosmopolis, is in post-production, and it was a completely different experience from working on a popular franchise.
鈥淚 just worked with David Cronenberg [on Cosmopolis], and just to see him 鈥� he鈥檚 left alone by everyone because, I mean, obviously he鈥檚 proved himself time and time again. It鈥檚 really strange; I鈥檝e never really worked with someone with absolutely no pressure from anywhere else but from themselves and from the environment in which they鈥檝e chosen to work in, and it鈥檚 kind of nice to know that the pressure is not caused by compromises or anything like that. They鈥檝e taken the responsibility on themselves, and it鈥檚 really up to them to make it what they want,鈥� he said.
Taylor Lautner may or may not be working with director Gus Van Sant on his next project.
鈥淚t鈥檚 very premature, so I really don鈥檛 have much to say now other than the fact that I really, really respect him and would love the opportunity to work with him,鈥� he said.
In the meantime, Lautner says that there are parts of Jacob that will stick with him.
鈥淎fter playing the same character for five movies and for years, you grow close to him. There are many things I look up to Jacob for. Jacob is one of the most loyal people, one of the most persistent people. He has amazing qualities to him that I hope I can learn from him and implement into my own life,鈥� he said.
