It's official: White iPhone 4 goes on sale Thursday

White iPhone 4, Apple's long lost tech unicorn, will really, truly go on sale tomorrow, according to Apple. The company delayed its white iPhone 4 for 10 months in order to "get every detail right."

After a long delay, Apple announced that its white iPhone 4 will finally be available beginning tomorrow.

Apple first announced the white iPhone 4 in June, 2010, but it only shipped the black model, offering no explanation except that it had manufacturing challenges. Some speculated that the white iPhone delay was due to problems with the phone鈥檚 camera and how white reflected from the back of the case.

At this point, the white iPhone is probably in very high demand it will sell like a cult product. The company will sell the phones from its online store, Apple鈥檚 retail store, AT&T and Verizon Wireless stores, and selected Apple authorized resellers.

鈥淭he white iPhone 4 has finally arrived and it鈥檚 beautiful,鈥� said Philip Schiller, Apple鈥檚 senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. 鈥淲e appreciate everyone who has waited patiently while we鈥檝e worked to get every detail right.鈥�

The phone is the same as the black iPhone 4 that went on sale last year. It will sell for $199 for a 16 gigabyte model and $299 for a 32-gigabyte model.

Apple will start selling the phone tomorrow in Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Macau, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, UK and the U.S. More countries will be available soon.
