Samsung says Ice Cream Sandwich will be rolled out to a range of its smartphones and tablets. Unless, of course, your carrier is T-Mobile.

This phone, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, shipped with the Android 4.0 operating system. Now Ice Cream Sandwich is getting a wider roll-out.

Ice Cream Sandwich, otherwise known as the Android 4.0 mobile operating system, has been around in one form or another since fall of last year. Unfortunately, a widespread roll-out has been pretty slow: The high-powered (and critically-acclaimed)聽Galaxy Nexus shipped with it, and so did the HTC Vivid, but many devices remained without Ice Cream Sandwich.

So hey, here's some good news: According to Samsung, a fleet of the South Korean manufacturer's devices are set to receive Android 4.0 upgrade.聽"Samsung is in close communication with both Google and our carrier partners to upgrade devices to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as quickly and as smoothly as possible," Samsung聽聽in a statement.聽

Wondering if your phone is on the list? Let's break it down by carrier. Five AT&T-powered devices are in line for Android 4.0: the聽Galaxy S II, the聽Galaxy S II Skyrocket, the聽Galaxy Note, the聽Captivate Glide, and the聽Galaxy Tab 8.9. On Sprint, it's the聽Nexus S 4G and the聽Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch. On Verizon it's two tablets: the聽Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the聽Galaxy Tab 7.7.聽

No word on exact availability date, but we're expecting these updates will go live relatively soon.

In the meantime, you may have noticed that T-Mobile is conspicuously absent from the Samsung list. Alas, that's because Samsung has not listed any T-Mobile devices on its Ice Cream Sandwich page. "We are in close communication with T-Mobile to ensure that eligible devices are upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in the coming months and will provide updates as we have additional details to share," Samsung reps wrote.聽

In other words, sit tight.聽
