Like a scene from the movie "Jaws," swimmers were ordered out of the water at the Duxbury town beach when a large聽shark聽was spotted near the shoreline.

Officials said the聽shark, which was tracked by a state police helicopter, was estimated to be about 15 feet in length. The waters were closed at about 2 p.m. Monday after the聽shark聽ventured a little too close to the swimming area on the beach. The all clear was given about two hours later.

Town officials initially described the聽shark聽as a great white in official tweets, but later said the exact species was unknown.

One beachgoer scrawled the words "You're gonna need a bigger boat," in the sand, paraphrasing a famous line from the movie.
