A small聽island聽near Buffalo has a big聽cat聽problem thanks to people who have abandoned felines there over the years.

reports聽that hundreds of feral and abandoned聽cats聽are believed to be on the Niagara River's Tonawanda听滨蝉濒补苍诲.

Mike Charnock owns a marina and restaurant on the 85-acre聽island聽just north of Buffalo. He says the聽cats聽are making a mess of the聽island, and even have gotten onto boats at his marina.

Danielle Coogan has launched Operation聽Island聽Cats聽to stem the growing problem. She's trapping聽cats聽and having them spayed or neutered by veterinarians.

In the last 10 days, she has trapped 10聽cats. Kittens will be put up for adoptions. Adult聽cats聽will be returned to the聽island.
