Tropical storm Dorian moves west across Atlantic

Tropical storm Dorian grew stronger Thursday morning as it moved west across the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of west Africa. Currently, there are no land threats from tropical storm Dorian.

Tropical聽Storm聽Dorian聽has gained some strength as it moves across the Atlantic, far from land.

The聽storm's聽maximum sustained winds increased to near 60 mph (95 kph) early Thursday.

Dorian聽is centered about 700 miles (1,125 kilometers) west of the Cape Verde Islands, off the coast of west Africa, and is moving west-northwest near 17 mph (28 kph).

Currently, there are no land threats from the聽storm.

Meanwhile,聽Tropical聽Storm聽Flossie formed far out over the Pacific. Flossie's maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph (65 kph) with slow strengthening expected over the next day or so. The聽storm聽is centered about 1,045 miles (1,685 kilometers) west-southwest of the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California and is moving west-northwest near 15 mph (24 kph).
