Watch live: Climate change and the economy
Loading...
As the globe experiences historic temperatures and natural disasters seem to occur with increasing frequency, lost productivity, unsustainable supply chains, and property damage are but a few of the economic and social costs. In December 2015, the world will gather for the 21st meeting of the UN Climate Change Conference, or COP21. After years of negotiations, the global community seeks to establish the first universal agreement to combat climate change, an act that could accelerate a global transition to cleaner sources of energy and resilience to climate鈥檚 impacts. What role could corporations, civil society, and NGO鈥檚 play in such a transformation?
We'll address these and other questions in a panel discussion with Adele Simmons, president of the Global Philanthropy Partnership and David Waskow, director of the International Climate Initiative at World Resources Institute. Monitor energy editor David J. Unger will moderate.
