Learning, human relationships, and character 鈥 all pro-social pursuits 鈥 formed the individuals鈥 top three. Together they edged out what respondents perceived to be the most important marker in society鈥檚 view: 鈥渟tatus鈥 built on acquiring advantages over others.聽
