Allegiant flights to connect smaller New York cities to Florida

Three airports in New York are getting another national airline.
Las Vegas-based聽Allegiant聽Air says Tuesday it's adding service to 10 airports, including Long Island MacArthur in Islip, Stewart International in Newburgh, and Hancock International in Syracuse.
Allegiant聽generally only flies twice a week to most cities and most of the new聽flights聽are to Florida.
The airline is adding seven new 177-seat Airbus A320s to boost coverage on the East Coast.
Currently, jetBlue Airways, Delta Connection and US Airways Express fly out of Stewart. Syracuse also has jetBlue, Delta and US Airways, as well as Air Canada, United and American Eagle and some smaller carriers. Southwest, US Airways and Penair fly out of MacArthur.
The new Allegiant flights聽will begin this fall.
