Turnstile jumping can come with a steep sentence if you're packing heat when you do it. Seven years in prison, plus another 3-1/2 on parole, to be precise.
Ruben Sanabria was arrested at the 14th Street聽PATH聽station last March 30 after jumping over a subway turnstile. When they stopped him for not paying the $2.25 fare, police found a loaded .40-caliber handgun and extra bullets on him.
Mr. Sanabria pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a weapon.
The New York Post (聽) says Sanabria also was sentenced to 3-1/2 years parole.
