While the sales of聽Apple鈥檚听iPhone 5 fell short of the most optimistic estimates, Brian Marshall of ISI Group said Monday on CNBC that the company鈥檚 potential growth was still 鈥100 percent greater.鈥
聽Marshall estimated that there were still 鈥渁 couple of million units in transit,鈥 based upon the pre-orders of the iPhone 5. 鈥淭hey鈥檝e sold a lot more than 5 million,鈥 he said on 鈥Fast Money.鈥 鈥淲e think the story鈥檚 intact for sure.鈥
Marshall said it would take a while to build the all phones that Apple sold in order to reach bullish sales estimates of up to 8 million units.
聽鈥淲e estimate that they鈥檙e currently manufacturing about 275,000 iPhones per day, so to build up 7 million iPhones that takes about three weeks,鈥 he said.
聽鈥淐an the market actually take in those phones that they can physically manufacture? Obviously, the answer is yes, and, in fact, they鈥檒l take in a lot more than what they can currently manufacture.鈥
聽Marshall said that in the analysis of all Apple鈥檚 250 telecom carrier partners around the globe, the growth potential for iPhones was 鈥100 percent greater than it is now.鈥
