Aston Martin starts design and engineering consulting
Aston Martin today launched an independent consulting service that can help with anything from designing busses to sports cars to luxury yachts.
As we learned in our recent the new service, dubbed Aston Martin Consulting, is a similar endeavor to Lotus Engineering which in the past has been contracted by numerous automakers looking to outsource engineering services, primarily in the area of handling.
According to Palmer, Aston Martin Consulting has a talent for working with lightweight materials such as aluminum and carbon fiber, as well as engine development. And this talent has already been utilized in projects like the development of a as well as a boat for Quintessence Yachts.
鈥淲e are often asked to collaborate on projects with other companies,鈥� Palmer said. 鈥淭he formation of Aston Martin Consulting means that we can offer a more structured approach to these projects.鈥�
The service is headed by Bradley Yorke-Biggs, who has been a senior manager at Aston Martin for the past 14 years. He and his team will be based at Aston Martin鈥檚 main facility in Gaydon, England.
