Buick Enclave, more GM vehicles recalled for seat hazards
General Motors has issued a recall for select 2016 models of the Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, and聽. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, some of those SUVs may have been improperly manufactured.
The problem with these vehicles lies in the third-row聽聽frame, a portion of which may have been welded in the wrong location. As a result, the seat could shift or separate during a collision, increasing the risk of injury to occupants.
The recall is limited to 2016 models manufactured between November 6, 2015 and November 12, 2015. All told, the recall affects 2,633 vehicles registered in the U.S.
GM will mail recall notices to owners, asking them to take their vehicles to dealers for inspection. Dealers will take a close look at the third row left side lower seat frame and replace it if necessary, at no charge.
