167,427 pounds of ground beef recalled for contamination

A meat company based in Nebraska is听recalling听167,427 pounds of ground听beef听that might be tainted with E. coli bacteria.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture said Sunday that All American Meats Inc. is听recalling听the meat that was sold to retailers nationwide. No illnesses have been linked to the听beef.
The听recalled听meat was produced on Oct. 16, and it was sold in either 60-pound or 80-pound packages.
All the meat that is being听recalled听had a sell-by date of Nov. 3 and establishment number 20420 in the USDA inspection stamp.

All American Meats, Inc., an Omaha, Neb. establishment, is recalling approximately 167,427 pounds of ground beef products that may be adulterated with听E. coli听O157:H7, the U.S. Department of Agriculture鈥檚 Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.
The ground beef items were produced on Oct. 16, 2015. The following products are subject to recall: [听(PDF Only)]
- 80-lb. (approximate weight) boxes of 鈥淕round Beef 80% Lean 20% Fat (Fine Grind)鈥 with Sell By Date 11-03-2015 and case code 62100.
- 80-lb. (approximate weight) boxes of 鈥淕round Beef 73% Lean 27% Fat (Fine Grind)鈥 with Sell By Date 11-03-2015 and case code 60100.
- 60-lb. (approximate weight) boxes of 鈥淕round Beef Round 85% Lean 15% Fat (Fine Grind)鈥 with Sell By Date 11-03-2015 and case code 68560.
- 60-lb. (approximate weight) boxes of 鈥淕round Beef Chuck 81% Lean 19% Fat (Fine Grind)鈥 with Sell By Date 11-03-2015 and case code 68160.
- 60-lb. (approximate weight) boxes of 鈥淕round Beef Chuck 81% Lean 19% Fat (Fine Grind)鈥 with Sell By Date 11-03-2015 and case code 63130.
- 80-lb. (approximate weight) boxes of 鈥淕round Beef Chuck 81% Lean 19% Fat (Fine Grind)鈥 with Sell By Date 11-03-2015 and case code 63100.
The products subject to recall bear establishment number 鈥淓ST. 20420鈥 inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide.
The problem was discovered on Oct. 30, 2015, when a positive result for听E. coli听O157:H7 from FSIS鈥 in-commerce surveillance program testing was traced back to the establishment. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
FSIS and the company are concerned that some product may be frozen and in consumers' freezers.
Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their听customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers. When available, the retail distribution list(s) will be posted on the FSIS website at听.
FSIS advises all consumers to safely prepare their raw meat products, including fresh and frozen, and only consume ground beef that has been cooked to a temperature of 160掳 F. and to use a food thermometer that measures internal temperature,听.
