According to , Warner Bros. has offered the role to the actor, who is the most recent to win the Best Actor Oscar for his work in 鈥淓verything.鈥� The story of 鈥淔antastic Beasts鈥� is built on a the mention of a textbook assigned to Harry and his friends in the 鈥淗arry Potter鈥� books. Scamander is the author of the book, which covers the topic of magical beasts.
The screenplay is being written by 鈥淧otter鈥� writer J.K. Rowling.
