A new version of the Thomas Hardy novel 鈥淔ar From the Madding Crowd鈥 is hitting theaters.
Hardy鈥檚 book follows a woman named Bathsheba Everdene (Carey Mulligan) who is wooed by shepherd Gabriel Oak (Matthias Schoenaerts) and widower William Boldwood (Michael Sheen) as well as the soldier Frank Troy (Tom Sturridge).
The novel was previously filmed with Julie Christie, Terene Stamp, and Peter Finch 鈥 that version was released in 1967.
The new film with Mulligan and Sheen hits theaters on May 1. Check out the trailer above.
