'Becoming Steve Jobs': Apple approves of this biography
A new biography of Steve Jobs 鈥� 鈥淏ecoming Steve Jobs鈥� by Rick Tetzeli and Brent Schlender 鈥� is garnering words of approval from some involved with Apple.聽
Walter Isaacson鈥檚 2011 book 鈥淪teve Jobs鈥� became an instant bestseller but was not well-received by some Apple staffers. Apple design chief Jony Ive told the 聽of the book, 鈥淢y regard couldn鈥檛 be any lower.鈥� In "Becoming Steve Jobs" Apple chief executive Timothy D. Cook is quoted as saying that Isaacson鈥檚 book did 鈥渁 tremendous disservice鈥� to Jobs. (鈥淢y book is very favorable and honest, with no anonymous slings,鈥� Isaacson told the .)听
However, 鈥淏ecoming Steve Jobs,鈥� which is being released on March 24, is getting a much different reaction from the company. (According to the NYT, Schlender, who along with Tetzeli is a journalist who writes about technology, wrote about Jobs for almost 25 years.) The iBooks Twitter account called the book聽
while Apple鈥檚 chief of software and Internet service Eddy Cue tweeted,聽
also praised the book, writing that 鈥渇ew had contents that can match the access and revelatory quality of this new book.鈥�
