Chris Kyle's widow Taya will publish memoir 'American Wife'
Taya Kyle, the widow of 鈥淎merican Sniper鈥� subject Chris Kyle, will reportedly publish a memoir.听
Ms. Kyle鈥檚 book will be co-written with Jim DeFelice and published in May through William Morrow, according to .听

The book 鈥淎merican Sniper鈥� by Chris Kyle, who was called the deadliest sniper in American military history, was first released in 2012 and is still on bestseller lists 鈥� it ranked at number four on the IndieBound trade paperback nonfiction list for the week of March 12 and at number one on the same bestseller list in the Mass Market category.
Kyle was killed in 2013 at a gun range in Texas.听
His book was adapted as a movie of the same name that was released this past December. It was nominated for the Best Picture Oscar and starred Bradley Cooper, who received an Oscar nod for Best Actor, and Sienna Miller. The film was directed by Clint Eastwood and was also nominated for the Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar, the Best Sound Mixing, and the Best Film Editing Oscars. It won the Best Sound Editing award.
Monitor film critic Peter Rainer gave the movie a B grade, writing that the movie is 鈥渁s taut as anything [Eastwood] has ever done鈥� Cooper鈥� commendably plays Kyle鈥� As long as Eastwood is showing聽Kyle in combat, which is a lot of the time, the film has a no-nonsense聽immediacy鈥� At his best,聽Eastwood can show us not only violence but its human consequences鈥� If the film had plumbed his psychological聽state with anything like the acuity of his marksmanship, we would have聽a masterpiece. But Kyle, the regular guy with super-honed killer instincts,聽remains an enigma. Miller鈥檚 role quickly degenerates into weepy-wife聽terrain, and Kyle鈥檚 re-entry into civilian life, where he endures PTSD for a time, is too sketchily drawn 鈥� and too easily resolved.鈥�
