Kelly Link's 'Get in Trouble' is well-received by critics

Kelly Link鈥檚 new short story collection 鈥淕et In Trouble鈥 is receiving many positive reviews.

The book by Link, the author of works such as 鈥淧retty Monsters,鈥 was released earlier this month and was selected as one of the best books of the month by Amazon. 鈥淪he's one of the great under-sung writers,鈥 Amazon editorial director Sara Nelson said of Link.

Meanwhile, book critic Meg Wolitzer found the book to have 鈥渁stonishing freedom鈥. [Link has] confidence and storytelling chops鈥. Link perfectly mimics the cadences of teenagers talking to one another.鈥 reviewer David L. Ulin called the book "unsettling and vivid.... [I]t resonates with depth and maturity."

And , , and all agreed with the praise, with both publications giving the story collection starred reviews. PW called the book 鈥渋maginative鈥. Link鈥檚 characters 鈥 seek trouble out 鈥 to spectacular effect.鈥 Meanwhile, Kirkus Reviews found the book to be 鈥渁s haunting as anything the Grimm brothers could have come up with鈥 .Exquisite [and] cruelly wise鈥 and Library Journal writer Reba Leiding of Virginia鈥檚 James Madison University Library called the stories 鈥渋maginatively bizarre.鈥
