Judy Blume's next book for adults will be released this June
Those who know author Judy Blume best for her young adult novels such as 鈥淎re You There God? It鈥檚 Me, Margaret鈥� and 鈥淔orever鈥� may be surprised by her upcoming project.聽
Blume鈥檚 next novel will be for adults and will be published this June. (As noted by the , it will be her first book for older readers since 1998.) It will be titled 鈥淚n the Unlikely Event鈥� and will be based on Blume鈥檚 own memories of various plane crashes that happened close to Elizabeth, N.J. (Blume鈥檚 hometown) between 1951 and 1952.
鈥淭hese events have lingered in my mind ever since,鈥� the author said in a . 鈥淚t was a crazy time. We were witnessing things that were incomprehensible to us as teenagers. Was it sabotage? An alien invasion? No one knew, and people were understandably terrified.鈥澛�
The book is being released by Knopf.
