Calling all Shakespeare fans: new service lets viewers watch Globe Theatre productions online

The Globe Player lets viewers rent or purchase videos of various Globe productions, including those in languages other than English.

Shakespeare fans won鈥檛 need to travel to London to see a production at the Globe Theatre.

The theater has created the Globe Player, an online service that lets viewers watch various productions performed there. This includes language options such as a production of 鈥淗amlet鈥� in Lithuanian with English subtitles and 鈥淎ntony & Cleopatra鈥� in Turkish with English subtitles as well as productions performed in English.

The productions will cost viewers a little more than $6 to rent and almost $13 to purchase. There鈥檚 also free videos such as interviews with actors Ian McKellan of the 鈥淗obbit鈥� films, 鈥淧hilomena" actress Judi Dench, and Ewan McGregor of 鈥�Beginners," among others.
