New York Public Library has book lovers share unusual reading spots

Celebrities like Hillary Clinton have been sharing some of their favorite reading locations.

Do you sometimes read books in unusual locations? According to the New York Public Library鈥檚 new campaign, you鈥檙e not alone.

The NYPL encouraged social media users to tweet using the hashtag #ireadeverywhere this month and celebrities such as聽Jim Parsons of 鈥淭he Big Bang Theory,鈥 writer Neil Gaiman, politician Hillary Clinton, and author Emma Straub of 鈥淭he Vacationers鈥 have gotten in on the action. The NYPL has added some of the submissions to its page. Gaiman wrote that

NYPL spokeswoman Angela Montefinise told the that those who have submitted pictures have gotten creative.

鈥淭housands of people from around the globe have participated on Twitter and Instagram, sharing pics of themselves at bars, under their desks at work, in France, in national parks, on the train, in doctors' offices, in airplanes, at White Castle, underwater, in cars, in restaurants,鈥 she said.

Not all the readers are found in summer settings. Hillary Clinton tweeted a vintage photo of herself 鈥 wearing a green-and-red Christmas blazer 鈥 reading with a young Chelsea in front of a Christmas tree.

Meanwhile, the NYPL recently opened a pop-up outdoor reading area, according to the . It has various seats, books to peruse, and free Wi-Fi. It will be open until Aug. 15.
