A new trailer has been released for the upcoming movie based on the book 鈥The Hobbit鈥 by J.R.R. Tolkien. The title of the new movie is 鈥淭he Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.鈥澛
The film is set to be the conclusion of 鈥Lord of the Rings鈥 director Peter Jackson鈥檚 trilogy based on the novel. The cast includes 鈥淪herlock鈥 actor Martin Freeman as hobbit Bilbo Baggins as well as Ian McKellan of the TV show 鈥淰icious鈥 as the wizard Gandalf, and Richard Armitage of 鈥淩obin Hood鈥 as dwarf leader Thorin.
The new trailer previews the battle-heavy conclusion of the series and is set to 鈥淟ord of the Rings鈥 actor Billy Boyd鈥檚 performance of a song based on Tolkien鈥檚 work 鈥淎 Walking Song,鈥 which Boyd performed in the 2003 movie 鈥The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.鈥澛
In the new clip, Bilbo says, 鈥淥ne day I鈥檒l remember, remember everything that happened. The good, the bad. Those who survived and those that did not.鈥
Human Bard the Bowman (Luke Evans) asks Thorin, 鈥淲ill you have peace or war?鈥 to which Thorin replies, 鈥淚 will have war.鈥澛
After watching the first 鈥淗obbit鈥 movie, 鈥The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,鈥 Monitor film critic Peter Rainer said that he found himself asking, 鈥淒o we really need this movie?鈥 However, Rainer 鈥渜uite liked鈥 the second movie, 鈥The Hobbit:聽The Desolation of Smaug,鈥 writing that 鈥渢here鈥檚 much more eye-catching mayhem鈥. Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) gets to face off against one of the great movie dragons of all time and there鈥檚 a giant spider attack sequence that represents Jackson at his gross-out best鈥. Most middle movies in a trilogy simply mark time. Not this one.鈥
鈥淎rmies," which was originally titled 鈥淭he Hobbit: There and Back Again,鈥 but recently had its title changed, is set to be released on Dec. 17.
