Lev Grossman recently released a book trailer for his upcoming novel 鈥淭he Magician鈥檚 Land鈥� that brought together readers and authors to read sentences from the new book.
鈥淭he Magician's Land鈥� is the third book in Grossman鈥檚 trilogy that began with 鈥淭he Magicians,鈥� which was published in 2009. The second book, 鈥淭he Magician King,鈥� was released in 2011. 鈥淭he Magician's Land鈥� is scheduled to be published on Aug. 5.
For the book trailer for his new novel, Grossman put sentences from his new book on his blog and asked readers to submit videos of themselves reading them. Authors, including Neil Gaiman, 鈥淲icked鈥� writer Gregory Maguire, Rainbow Rowell of 鈥淟andline鈥� and 鈥淭he Night Circus鈥� author Erin Morgenstern, also participated.聽
Some acted out their lines, like the 鈥淢agician鈥� fan who read a line about a person on a cell phone and was taped tapping away on his phone. Others selected unusual settings 鈥� Gaiman appears to be on a boat.
