'Wild' movie adaptation gets a release date, more cast members
The movie adaptation of Cheryl Strayed鈥檚 bestselling memoir 鈥淲ild鈥� has gained new cast members and gotten a release date.
The film will be released on Dec. 5, according to . As previously announced, it stars 鈥淢ud鈥� actress Reese Witherspoon as Strayed, who decides to hike the Pacific Crest Trail after a divorce and the death of her mother. The movie is directed by Jean-Marc Vallee, who directed the Oscar-nominated 2013 movie 鈥淒allas Buyers Club.鈥�
According to , 鈥淓nlightened鈥� actress Laura Dern will also star in the movie as Strayed鈥檚 mother, Bobbi. Other cast members include Gaby Hoffmann of 鈥淕irls鈥� as Strayed鈥檚 friend Aimee, 鈥淥rphan Black鈥� actor Michiel Huisman as Strayed鈥檚 love interest Jonathan, and 鈥淭he Newsroom鈥� actor Thomas Sadoski as Strayed鈥檚 ex-husband Paul.
Strayed herself has posted various updates about the movie on her page.
