'The Fault in Our Stars': Vote on Tumblr to direct movie publicity tour
Want to see 鈥淭he Fault in Our Stars鈥� author John Green 鈥� and the stars of the 鈥淔ault鈥� film adaptation, Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort 鈥� on tour?听
Then you鈥檒l have to demonstrate your wish via Tumblr.
A Tumblr contest titled 鈥溾�� will determine what states Green, Woodley, Elgort, and actor Nat Wolff will visit during the 鈥淪tars鈥� promotion tour. The contest was created jointly by Tumblr and the studio behind 鈥淪tars,鈥� 20th Century Fox. To cast a vote, fans must post the logo for their state as created for the campaign, and each note on Tumblr counts as one vote for the state.
Green and the 鈥淔ault鈥� stars will be touring to promote the film from May 6 to May 10 and the 鈥淔ault鈥� movie is being released on June 6.听
According to , the four states with the most votes will earn visits from the 鈥淔ault鈥� crew. The contest will close on April 25 and winners will be announced the following week.
The tour on which the 鈥淔ault鈥� group will embark will be the first movie tour determined by Tumblr vote, said Fox Films senior vice-president of domestic digital marketing George Dewey.
鈥淭umblr obviously is a platform where a lot of our Fault听fanatics live, so we were looking to do something really big with them,鈥� he said. 鈥淲e also wanted to give our fans control over some of our campaigns.鈥�
Green tipped PW off as to which state he鈥檚 pulling for in the contest.
鈥淚鈥檓 secretly hoping for Indiana so I can spend a day with my family,鈥� he said. 鈥淏ut I don't think Indiana has a chance!鈥�
鈥淔ault鈥� was first released in 2012 and follows two teenagers who meet at a support group for those diagnosed with cancer. Woodley portrays Hazel Lancaster and Elgort plays Augustus Waters.
