Author Alice Hoffman鈥檚 novel 鈥淭he Dovekeepers鈥 will reportedly be adapted as a miniseries for CBS.
The novel, which was first released in 2012, follows several women who come to live at Masada, a mountain fortress where 900 Jewish people, in the first century, resisted an attack by Roman forces, with only a few surviving the ordeal.聽
鈥The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe鈥 co-writer Ann Peacock will adapt 鈥淒ovekeepers鈥 for the small screen. The miniseries is expected to air sometime in 2015 and will be four hours long, according to .
Hoffman is also the author of such novels as 鈥淧ractical Magic鈥 and 鈥淭he Probable Future.鈥
鈥淒ovekeepers鈥 producer Roma Downey, who also produced the wildly successful History Channel miniseries 鈥淭he Bible,鈥 told Deadline she was completely won over by the four women around which the novel centers.聽

In her review of 鈥淭he Dovekeepers,鈥 Monitor fiction critic Yvonne Zipp called the book Hoffman鈥檚 鈥渂est novel in years.鈥
