'Mortdecai' trilogy film adaptation will now reportedly include Jeff Goldblum, Aubrey Plaza

New actors including 鈥Jurassic Park鈥 actor Jeff Goldblum, "The Big C" actor Oliver Platt, and Aubrey Plaza of the TV series 鈥Parks and Recreation鈥 have been added to the film adaptation of Kyril Bonfiglioli鈥檚 鈥淢ortdecai鈥 series, according to .
The 鈥淢ortdecai鈥 books, which were originally released in the 1970s, center on art dealer Charlie Mortdecai and his adventures with his servant, Jock, which include entanglements with the police, art theft, and more. The series consists of the novels 鈥淒on鈥檛 Point That Thing At Me,鈥 鈥淎fter You with the Pistol,鈥 and 鈥淪omething Nasty in the Woodshed.鈥澛
It had already been announced that actors Johnny Depp (who is reportedly starring as Charlie), Ewan McGregor, and Gwyneth Paltrow were on board for the project. According to the website , actors Olivia Munn of 鈥淭he Newsroom鈥 and Paul Bettany of 鈥Margin Call鈥 have also signed on for the project.
Besides the original three books, the novel 鈥淭he Great Mustache Mystery,鈥 which was started by Bonfiglioli, was completed by writer Craig Brown and released in 1999.
McGregor recently appeared in another literary adaptation, this year鈥檚 film 鈥August: Osage County,鈥 which was based on the play of the same name by Tracy Letts. Meanwhile, Depp is reportedly starring in the film 鈥淎lice in Wonderland 2,鈥 based on author Lewis Carroll鈥檚 work, and has long been rumored to be involved with a remake of the 鈥淭hin Man鈥 films, which were based on the short stories by Dashiell Hammett and which originally starred actors William Powell and Myrna Loy.
