Stephen King arrives on Twitter

Stephen King quickly attracted almost 200,000 followers and has used his new Twitter account to recommend such books as Benjamin Percy's novel 'Red Moon.'

Bestselling author Stephen King has arrived on Twitter.

King created an on Dec. 6 and has already attracted more than 194,000 followers.

The writer鈥檚 assistant Marsha DeFilippo told the newspaper the that the author is in fact behind the account.

At the beginning of his tweeting journey, it appeared that King was at a loss for inspiration.

鈥淥n Twitter at last, and can't think of a thing to say,鈥 he tweeted on Dec. 6. 鈥淪ome writer I turned out to be.鈥

However, King later turned to recommending novels and TV programs he鈥檇 enjoyed. He wrote that the French TV show 鈥淭he Returned,鈥 which premiered in October in the US on the Sundance Channel, is 鈥渟cary and sexy鈥 and that he 鈥渃an鈥檛 stop thinking about鈥 Benjamin Percy鈥檚 novel 鈥淩ed Moon,鈥 which was released this past May.

King鈥檚 newest work, his 鈥淪hining鈥 sequel titled 鈥淒octor Sleep,鈥 was released in September. He also released the novel 鈥淛oyland,鈥 which centers on a contemporary college student working at an amusement park that is said to be haunted.
