Will actress Rosamund Pike star in 'Gone Girl'?
The 鈥淕one Girl鈥� has (presumably) been found.
According to the , 鈥淕one Girl鈥� director David Fincher has offered the lead role of Amy Dunne, the woman who disappears on her fifth wedding anniversary, to actress Rosamund Pike. Hollywood Reporter writer Tatiana Siegel writes that Pike 鈥渋s expected to accept" the part.
鈥淎rgo鈥� actor Ben Affleck had already been cast as husband Nick, who finds himself under suspicion after his wife disappears.
One of Pike鈥檚 most recent projects was the 2012 Tom Cruise film 鈥淛ack Reacher,鈥� in which she appeared as lawyer Helen. Moviegoers might also recognize her as Jane Bennet from the 2005 adaptation of 鈥淧ride and Prejudice,鈥� Dominic Cooper鈥檚 girlfriend Helen in the 2009 film 鈥淎n Education,鈥� or as the princess Andromeda in the 2012 action film 鈥淲rath of the Titans.鈥�
She will also appear in the Simon Pegg comedy 鈥淭he World鈥檚 End鈥� this August.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, 鈥淕irl鈥� is scheduled to start production in September.
Fincher and the novel鈥檚 author, Gillian Flynn, are reportedly adapting the script. Meanwhile, Flynn鈥檚 book is still at number 10 on the bestseller list for combined print and e-book fiction after having been released in June 2012.
