'Where'd You Go, Bernadette' moves toward the big screen

A behind-the-scenes team is being assembled for the film adaptation of Maria Semple鈥檚 bestselling Seattle-based satire 鈥淲here鈥檇 You Go, Bernadette.鈥
Producers Nina Jacobson, who is currently one of the producers behind 鈥The Hunger Games,鈥 and Megan Ellison, who served as one of the producers on current Oscar contenders 鈥Zero Dark Thirty鈥 and 鈥淭he Master,鈥 will be working together on the film. Jacobson鈥檚 company is Color Force, while Ellison鈥檚 is Annapurna Pictures.
It had earlier been announced that the script will be written by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, who worked together previously co-writing the film 鈥(500) Days of Summer,鈥 starring Zooey Deschanel, as well as co-writing 鈥The Pink Panther 2鈥 with other writers and co-creating the 2011 TV series 鈥淔riends with Benefits,鈥 which aired 12 episodes.
There鈥檚 no word yet on who will play mercurial mother Bernadette or her whip-smart daughter, Bee. 聽

Semple said she was extremely pleased with the choice to bring Jacobson and Ellison on board.

Semple will also serve as an executive producer. A release date for the film has not yet been set.
