Caroline B. Cooney's 'Janie Jones' children's series will end in 2013

Writer Caroline B. Cooney spun the story of Janie Jones, who recognizes her own face on the side of a milk carton, in her 1990 book 鈥淭he Face on the Milk Carton.鈥� Twenty-three years later, her five-part series is set to end this January with the publication of the fifth book in the series, 鈥淛anie Face to Face.鈥�
Publishers Weekly said of 鈥淭he Face on the Milk Carton" when it was first published that the book had 鈥渟trong characterizations and suspenseful, impeccably paced action."
鈥淭he roller-coaster ride Jane experiences with her emotions is both absorbing and convincing,鈥� the review continued.
To celebrate the end of the series, the publisher, Delacorte, has released an e-book compilation of excerpts of the first four novels in the series, which is titled 鈥淛anie Series Ebook Sampler.鈥� The sampler will also include a preview of Cooney鈥檚 fifth book and is free.
Cooney also released a new short story titled 鈥淲hat Janie Saw鈥� in e-book format his past spring.
