Controversial figure Amanda Knox has signed a book deal with HarperCollins for a reported $4 million.
Knox, 24, had her conviction overturned in October after being sentenced to 26 years imprisonment for the murder of Knox鈥檚 roommate, Meredith Kercher, in 2007 in Perugia, Italy, where Knox was an exchange student. Knox鈥檚 boyfriend at the time, Rafaele Sollecito, also was cleared of the crime after initially being sentenced to 25 years in prison. Sollecito is rumored to be seeking a publisher for a memoir of his own.
Various publishers bid for the rights to Knox鈥檚 memoir, . The memoir is slated to be released in 2013.
鈥淜nox will give a full and unflinching account of the events that led to her arrest in Perugia and her struggles with the complexities of the Italian judicial system,鈥 a statement from HarperCollins read.
