The Church publishes the Monitor because it sees good journalism as vital to progress in the world. Since 1908, we鈥檝e aimed 鈥渢o injure no man, but to bless all mankind,鈥� as our founder, Mary Baker Eddy, put it.

Last fall I read a glowing review of Driftless by David Rhodes in the Monitor.聽 I added it to my "to read" list.聽 And I am so glad that I did. It is a gentle, warm, and engaging novel about the people of Words, Wisconsin.聽 Written very much in the mode of聽 "Spoon River," author Rhodes lets us share in the amazing lives of unforgettable people.聽 A terrific read.
