The Church publishes the Monitor because it sees good journalism as vital to progress in the world. Since 1908, we鈥檝e aimed 鈥渢o injure no man, but to bless all mankind,鈥� as our founder, Mary Baker Eddy, put it.

I鈥檓 rereading Great Expectations, Charles Dickens鈥檚 masterpiece. It was my favorite classic when I read it in ninth-grade English class. It鈥檚 still immediate and relevant today now that I鈥檓 50. Bittersweet and poignant, some of the scenes are stamped indelibly in my mind. This should be required reading for all middle-school readers.
