I recently read Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking, by Malcolm Gladwell, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It includes a collection of stories about how people in various walks of life were able to make very important decisions based on a few seconds or minutes of observation, such as art experts who saw an 鈥渁ncient鈥� marble sculpture and, without being able to explain how, declared it to be a fake 鈥� which was later proved to be.
