All Natural by Nathanael Johnson looks at the natural approach and the institutionalized approach in seven areas, including childbirth, food, medicine, and the environment. The typical chapter starts with a chaos of contradictory claims; but as the author gathers information, he finds in almost all cases that each of the two approaches has its strong points, yet is in crying need of some features of the other. This book is fascinating and wonderfully honest.
