Reader recommendation: Road to Victory

Monitor readers share their favorite book picks.

It took me three months to get through Road to Victory by Martin聽Gilbert, which details the day-to-day events in the life of Sir Winston Churchill from聽1941-1945. Books about any war can be depressing, but this was聽fascinating聽and wonderfully uplifting, even humorous with recollections and diary entries from Churchill's family, friends, and colleagues who observed his聽brilliant leadership and determination in the face of Nazi tyranny. This聽truly was "his finest hour".
