In 1997, Christophe Andr茅, a French administrator for Doctors Without Borders in the northern Caucasus, was kidnapped by Chechens and spent 111 days as a hostage. Guy Delisle, the marvelous cartoonist, memoirist, and travel writer, met Andr茅 in 2000 and over the next 15 years learned, gathered, and then re-created in a graphic novel the harrowing yet also inspiring and compelling story of Andr茅鈥檚 captivity.
