"Son of a Gun" is a debut work for Justin St. Germain, who chronicles his journey back to his hometown of Tombstone, Ariz. in an attempt to understand more about his mother, who was allegedly killed by her fifth husband. St. Germain looks back on his life with his mother and the history of his town. Nelson calls the book "a personal favorite." "She was a tough, smart woman and she just kept picking the wrong man," she says of St. Germain's mother. "[The book] is quite beautiful."
