Her "Internet Girls" series, written entirely in text-message speak, takes a frank look at the development of a group of teenage girls as they discover and experiment with sex and drugs. She's been called "this generation's Judy Blume," and "Satan" in almost equal measure. (And to some, those are equivalent terms). To add confusion to controversy, Myracle's 2011 novel "Shine," about a hate crime in South Carolina, was mistakenly nominated for the National Book Award.
