Though he鈥檚 hardly the first writer to pen a novel about vampires, and certainly did not invent the vampire, Stoker invented the blood-sucking mythological creature鈥檚 modern form. As such, he is regarded as the unsung hero of the modern vampire/zombie mania that Hollywood and the publishing industry sunk its teeth into with such works as the 鈥淒racula鈥� movies, 鈥淭wilight,鈥� 鈥�Vampire Diaries,鈥� 鈥�Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter,鈥� 鈥�True Blood,鈥� and many more. Thanks to Stoker, modern Americans can鈥檛 stop feeding on vampire culture.
