Though he鈥檚 hardly the first writer to pen a novel about vampires, and certainly did not invent the vampire, Stoker invented the blood-sucking mythological creature鈥檚 modern form. As such, he is regarded as the unsung hero of the modern vampire/zombie mania that Hollywood and the publishing industry sunk its teeth into with such works as the 鈥淒racula鈥 movies, 鈥淭wilight,鈥 鈥Vampire Diaries,鈥 鈥Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter,鈥 鈥True Blood,鈥 and many more. Thanks to Stoker, modern Americans can鈥檛 stop feeding on vampire culture.
