Cameron Pugh is an award-winning reporter covering Greater Boston and, sometimes, New England more broadly, for the Monitor. He has written about everything from education to the environment to immigration, and is especially drawn to richly reported narratives. He pays close attention to stories in Greater Boston and New England that mirror national trends, digging into how big stories affect everyday people.
Cameron previously served as the lead writer for the Points of Progress franchise in the Monitor鈥檚 weekly magazine. He is from Port Saint Lucie, Florida, and speaks passable Spanish.
Cameron is a graduate of Williams College, where he majored in English with a minor in Africana studies. He served as a managing editor at The Williams Record, the college鈥檚 student-run newspaper. He has worked at GBH News 鈥� Boston鈥檚 local NPR station 鈥� and was an Emerging Reporting Fellow at ProPublica. In his free time, he enjoys reading, running, thrifting, and listening to music.
