Tyler Bey was a Monitor intern from May 2021 to August 2021.
Tyler Bey is a rising sophomore at Fordham University in New York City where he studies theater performance. As he transitions into being an upperclassman, he hopes to declare a second major in journalism and possibly a minor in his newfound love of philosophy. When he鈥檚 not in a theater rehearsal, he鈥檚 thrift shopping with his friends or putting on fun photoshoots in the city. He鈥檚 a native of Atlanta and spends his summers there with his mother, grandmother, and little brother.
Tyler found journalism from a teen program in Atlanta called VOXATL. It was here that he found his voice and garnered an appreciation for writing, especially film and theater reviews. Now as he watches movies, he ganders them with a critical eye that he hopes to hone at the Monitor. He has a fond appreciation for the Monitor鈥檚 approach to journalism and hopes to continue to discover the many ways art can bring people together.
