Sophie Hills is a national political reporter for the Monitor. She previously covered faith and religion, focusing on the intersection of religion and politics, culture, and ideas.
She holds a B.A. from Principia College, where she double majored in political science and music studies. Before joining the Monitor staff, Sophie was a Monitor intern and a reporting fellow for the Provincetown Independent on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. She speaks Spanish.
Sophie was a 2025 Paul Miller Washington Reporting fellow with the National Press Foundation.
