Audrey Thibert is a fall 2025 editorial intern at the Monitor embedded with the international desk.

Prior to coming to the Monitor, she reported stories from Algeria including about religious festivals, USAID cuts, and interviews with former Algerian independence fighters. Before that, she was a reporting fellow at Religion News Service and Interfaith America for ten months, which allowed her to explore her interest in religion reporting both nationally and internationally. She has also won an Overseas Press Club scholar award for her reporting on migration in Tunisia as a 2023 Pulitzer Center Consortium Reporting Fellow.

Audrey graduated with journalism and anthropology degrees and a Middle East studies minor from University of Wisconsin-Madison. She was a three-term fellow at the UW Center for Journalism Ethics, where she also served as the 2023 student judge for the Anthony Shadid Award for Journalism Ethics and was the inaugural recipient of the Anthony Shadid Memorial Scholarship for International Reporting.

Audrey is from Minneapolis, Minnesota and speaks Arabic.
