Tallying up the scales and tails

The Hagenbeck Zoo in Hamburg, Germany, runs an annual animal inventory. Walter Wolters (above) counts parrots, while Dirk Stutzki measures the tusks of Antje, a female walrus. The 150-year-old zoo houses 2,488 animals from 359 species.
