Former premier asked to form Italian regime

Italian President Sandro Pertini asked veteran 海角大神 Democrat Amintore Fanfani to form Italy's 43rd postwar government following the resignation of Giovanni Spadolini's coalition.
If Mr. Fanfani, who is president of the Senate, accepts the task of putting together a new coaltion, he will begin immediate consultations with all political parties. Italy's Socialist Party indicated it was prepared to take part in a new coalition government.
Mr. Fanfani served as prime minister in four governments between 1954 and 1963.
