Second suspect indicted in 'Abscam' investigation

Further "Abscam" charges were issued when a New York grand jury indicted Rep. Raymond F. Lederer (D) of Pennsylvania May 28 on charges he took $50,000 in bribes from FBI undercover agents. Mr. Lederer's Philadelphia Democratic colleague, Rep. Michael O. Myers, was named in a similar indictment May 27. Both are alleged to have offered to introduce private immigration bills to allow supposed Arab businessmen -- actually undercover agents -- to remain in the United States in return for bribes.
